01 - Preheat heart-shaped waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well blended.
03 - In a separate bowl, beat eggs thoroughly. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until uniform.
04 - Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined—do not overmix. Small lumps are acceptable.
05 - Lightly grease waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray or small amount of melted butter.
06 - Pour batter into center of waffle iron, covering approximately two-thirds of surface. Close lid and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
07 - Remove cooked waffle carefully. Repeat cooking process with remaining batter until all waffles are prepared.
08 - Serve immediately while warm, topped with desired accompaniments such as fresh berries, whipped cream, or syrup.
