Green Matcha Latte Oat (Printable Version)

A creamy latte combining vibrant matcha and smooth oat milk for a mild energy lift.

# Ingredient List:

→ Matcha Mixture

01 - 1 teaspoon high-quality matcha powder
02 - 2 tablespoons hot water (about 175°F)

→ Latte

03 - 1 cup oat milk
04 - 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup or sweetener of choice (optional)

# Step-by-Step Instructions:

01 - Sift the matcha powder into a mug to remove clumps and ensure smooth texture.
02 - Add hot water to the sifted matcha. Whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk or small regular whisk until completely smooth and frothy.
03 - Heat oat milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming but not boiling. Alternatively, microwave in a microwave-safe container for 45-60 seconds.
04 - Froth the heated oat milk using a milk frother or whisk until foamy and creamy texture develops.
05 - Pour oat milk into the mug with matcha, holding back foam with a spoon. Spoon foam on top of the latte.
06 - Stir in maple syrup or sweetener of choice if desired, adjusting to taste preference.
07 - Serve immediately, optionally garnished with a light sprinkle of matcha powder on top for presentation.

# Tips from hearthlykitchen:

01 -
  • Its the kind of energy that feels like a warm hug instead of a jolt to your nervous system
  • Once you nail the whisking technique, you will feel ridiculously sophisticated making cafe worthy drinks at home
02 -
  • Water temperature is everything I learned this the hard way after wasting perfectly good powder on boiling water
  • Bamboo whisks called chasen create superior foam but a tiny regular whisk works if you put some muscle into it
03 -
  • Invest in a proper sifter or that tiny mesh strainer in your drawer will become your best friend
  • Whisking in a W pattern creates more aeration than circular motions, giving you that coveted foam layer
