- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl, mixing until evenly blended.
- Roll out puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Brush each sheet thoroughly with melted butter, then sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture evenly across the surface.
- Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, slice each pastry sheet into 4 long strips approximately 1 1/2 inches wide.
- Twist each strip several times, then form into bunny silhouette: create an oval body shape and loop one end to form the head, pinching dough to secure. Shape small pieces for ears if desired.
- Place shaped bunnies on prepared baking sheets, leaving adequate space between each for expansion during baking.
- Whisk egg with milk in a small bowl until combined. Lightly brush each twist with egg wash using a pastry brush.
- Press mini chocolate chips or raisins into dough to create eyes, if using decorative toppings.
- Bake for 13 to 15 minutes until twists are puffed and golden brown, rotating pans halfway through for even browning.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly on baking sheets. Dust generously with powdered sugar just before serving.
